Architectural wonders dot the city and leave you mesmerized. Ironically, Alwar in Rajasthan, India is the oldest as well the newest kingdom of the Rajputs. It is the oldest because its customs date far back to the kingdoms of Viratnagar, which flourished around 1500 B.C. Also known by the name of Matasya Desh. Neemrana Fort Palace
Neemrana Fort Palace is situated in the Neemrana village of Alwar district. Dating back to the 15th century, the fort has now been converted into a heritage hotel. Infact, it is one of the oldest heritage resorts in the country and still retains its historic grandeur.
Kesroli Hill Fort
Yaduvanshi Rajputs built Hill fort of Kesroli, near Alwar, in the 14th century. Situated amidst picturesque agrarian surroundings, the fort now counts amongst the oldest heritage hotels in India.
Siliserh Lake and Palace
One of the famous Alwar excursions is the Siliserh Lake. The lake spreads over an area of approximately 10.5 sq. km. Located almost 12 km to the southwest of the city of Alwar, this lake offers peace and serenity to its visitors. Siliserh Lake is surrounded by low hills and thick forest. On the banks of the lake are some royal cenotaphs. In the year 1845, Maharaja Vinay Singh built a palace (hunting lodge) for his Queen Shila near the lake. Now transformed into a tourist bungalow, it still serves as a delightful tourist spot.

Bala Quila
Alwar, Rajasthan sightseeing tour must include the Bala Quila (young fort), dominating the skyline of Alwar. Built atop a hill, the fort is located approximately 595m above the city. It stretches about 5 km from north to south and 1.6 km from east to west. Bala Quila contains 15 large and 51 small towers, comprising of approximately 446 loopholes for the musketry. Other attractions of the fort include Nikumbha Mahal Palace at the top. The palace is adorned with Bengal caned marble columns and latticed balconies. The fort has six gates, namely Jai Pol (gate), Suraj Pol, Laxman Pol, Chand Pol, Krishan Pol and Andheri Gate.
Kesroli Hill Fort
The Hill fort, Kesroli is a Neemrana Group Enterprise। Kesroli is located near Alwar (Rajasthan, India).
The Hill Fort of Kesroli, Rajasthan dates back to the 14th century. The fort is situated on top of the rare, dark Hornstone Breccia rocks. The 50-65 m high fortifications of the fort offer some amazing views of the fields surrounding it. The seven-turreted Hill-Fort of Kesroli was constructed by the Yaduvanshi Rajputs, considered to be the descendants of Lord Krishna। The fort saw many battles and seizures. First, it was annexed by the Mughals, then Jats and then Rajputs (in the year 1775). The best period of Hill Fort was from 1882 to 1934, under the reign of Ranawat Thakur Bhawani Singh.
Neemrana Fort Palace
Neemrana Fort Palace is the Crown Jewel of the Neemrana Group Enterprise। Built since 1464 AD, and restored in 1980s, Neemrana Fort-Palace is India's oldest heritage resort.
Neemrana Fort Palace of Rajasthan is situated in village Neemrana of Alwar district. Maharaja Devi Singh Ji got the Neemrana palace constructed in the year 1464 AD. The descendants of Prithviraj Chauhan III, defeated by Mohammad Ghauri in the battle of Tarain, found their third capital in Neemrana. Raja Rajdeo selected the venue for the fort palace of Neemrana. The village Neemrana derives its name from Nimola Meo, a brave local chieftain. After he got defeated in a battle against the Chauhans, he implored them to give his name to his lost kingdom.
